Covid-19 — Coronavirus: True Detective & Real Perspective
I’m here to share TRUE NEWS about COVID-19. It seems these days we require detective work and investigation to know what’s true, false, fake, opinion, misleading, black, white, gray and everything in between.
In a world of “fake news” (something branded “fake” but might not be), fake news (not branded “fake” but definitely is), this is my medium to share unedited, unbiased truth about COVID-19. Getting accurate information is getting harder than it used to be. Distinguishing fact, fiction and opinion gets harder, as they are blurred, mixed together, and processed. They are influenced by agendas, policies and politics before being publicly disseminated and broadcast to the public.
Biased media reporting “is what it is”— to quote Dr. Anthony Fauci, albeit, he was talking about the lack of a timely response to coronavirus — but providing inaccurate or misleading information about Coronavirus isn’t just irresponsible, it can be deadly.
It’s motivated me, to get involved and I hope it will motivate others to do the same. Neurologists are trained to think like a detective. I have no training as a reporter, but I’ve lost confidence. Confidence in media, in leaders in medical correspondents and those responsible for educating the public. There are handfuls of good ones. But their information is drowned by the numerous amounts of news reported by “legitimate” sources, that are well credentialed. Those credentials don’t translate into accurate information. A group of these, usually reliable experts, sources, providing conflicting information confuses everything further. When the source is a physician or medical correspondent, it’s disturbing. It’s negligent. It’s SAD — So Annoying & Disturbing!
The media should be doing their due diligence before reporting information. Topics like Hydroxychloroquine, Facemasks, require more research before reporting to the world and making definitive declarations that they don’t work and are reversed (or not) a few days later. Why is this happening? Why is there a delay in implementing public health interventions? Is it politics? Who is responsible? Perhaps politicians, media, society, myself and physicians like me who allowed control to be transferred to big business, insurance companies, then even bigger business…….
Don’t know, but until some of these things change, I will try my best to ask tough questions and answer them. I will try my best to share what is fact, fiction or opinion. I won’t sugar coat everything, making everything white or black. I’ll let you know what’s white or black and tell you when it is gray. I’m not embarrassed to admit when I don’t know something. But I won’t pretend to know things, write about it and then hide behind my credentials.
When I give you information, I’ll do some detective work, first. Due diligence using my experience to analyze the data and give you a real perspective.
