The haunting echoes of justice

In the darkness of the night, a ghostly shape glides by
A vigilante, avenging one whose death it denies
With a broken heart and a soul filled with rage,
The ghost haunts the streets, never to turn the page.

With graceful steps, it glides through the shadows,
Hunting the monster that caused such sorrows,
With eyes that blaze like embers in the dark,
It seeks out the one who left a tiny heart stark

When the killer is found, in chains confined,
The ghost’s work is not done, its mission not resigned
For the baby’s death, a weight too heavy to bear
The ghost’s tears linger on, a sadness it can’t repair

With a final cry, the ghost at last finds
The culprit and its work is finally behind
The baby’s soul at peace, the city sleeps serene
And the ghost, in the stars forever is seen

Its work is done, its journey now through,
But the ghost’s memory, like stars, forever will renew
For though its body’s gone, its spirit lives on still
Guiding us, protecting us, until the morning’s chill

It watches over, a constant and unwavering guard
For the child it couldn’t save, for whom it’s scarred
Though justice has been served, and guilt is past,
The ghost’s pain lingers, forever it will last
The city trembles, as this ghost comes to call
Justice draws near, and its reckoning will befall
The guilty will pay, for the life they stole,
But the ghost’s pain, the ghost’s sorrow, will never be whole.
